The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in several parts of Coimbatore on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, for essential maintenance and tree-cutting work. The power cut will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., lasting around seven hours. However, officials have

mentioned that power may be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of time.
Areas to be Affected in Coimbatore
The affected areas include Maddampalayam, Mill Kovilpalayam, Devanampalayam, and Madukkarai, along with several nearby localities. The maintenance work is being carried out to strengthen feeder lines, upgrade transformers, and improve the overall power supply system to ensure fewer interruptions in the future.
In Maddampalayam, the outage will affect places like Bethapuram, Thannerpanthal, Kottaipirivu, Onnipalayam Road, Arivoli Nagar, Chinnamaddampalayam, Selvapuram, Shanthimedu, Bharathi Nagar, Samanaickenpalayam Road, and Kannarpalayam Road. In Mill Kovilpalayam, areas such as Senguttupalayam, N.G. Pudur, Perumpathi, Mullupadi, and Vadakkipalayam will experience a power cut.
Similarly, under the Devanampalayam 110 KV substation, electricity supply will be disrupted in Vaguthampalayam, Chetipudur, Kapalankarai, Emmegoundampalayam, Cheripalayam, and Andipalayam. In Madukkarai, power will be suspended in Arivoli Nagar, Serapalayam, Madukkarai, Palathurai, and A.G. Pathy.

These scheduled power cuts are part of routine maintenance to check, repair, or upgrade electrical systems, ensuring safety and better performance.
