Residents in several parts of Chennai will experience scheduled power outages on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as the Tamil Nadu power utility carries out routine maintenance work. According to the announced schedule, electricity supply will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with power expected to be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.

The maintenance work is aimed at improving the reliability of the electricity distribution network. Residents in the affected areas should charge mobile phones, laptops and backup power devices in advance, especially if they are working from home or have essential electrical equipment.
