Chennai, July 1: Residents in parts of Chennai should prepare for a planned power shutdown on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) undertakes scheduled maintenance work. Electricity supply will remain suspended in the notified areas from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with power expected to be restored earlier if maintenance is completed ahead of schedule.

People living in the affected localities are advised to charge essential electronic devices, make alternative arrangements for work-from-home activities, and plan their day accordingly.
