Chennai, July 2: Several parts of Chennai will witness a scheduled power shutdown on Thursday, July 2, 2026, as the Tamil Nadu power utility undertakes routine maintenance work to strengthen the electricity distribution network. The planned outage will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, although supply may be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.

Residents in the affected localities are advised to plan their activities in advance and ensure that essential electronic devices are fully charged before the shutdown begins.
