On Thursday, July 17, power will be cut from 9 am to 2 pm in several areas of Chennai for maintenance work. Residents in these localities should plan accordingly to minimise inconvenience during the outage.
Perungudi and Sholinganallur Areas
In Perungudi, power suspension will affect Aringar Anna 2nd to 4th Street, Saraswathi Nagar South and North, Pandian Salai Main Road, Senganiamman Koil Street, Kumaraguru Avenue 1st to 11th Street, Dr Ambedkar Street, Kakkan Street, Thanthai Periyar Street, Muthumariamman Koil Street, Ellaiamman Koil Street, Ruby Complex, Sivankoil Street, East Coast Road, Vasan Eye Care Hospital and Vasantha Bhavan Hotel.
Sholinganallur residents in Rajesh Nagar, Athipureeswarar Street, Astalakshmi Nagar, Kovalan Nagar, Velachery Main Road, Periyar Nagar, Kavimani Street and Omshakthi Nagar will also experience a power cut during this period.
Nanganallur and Kundrathur Localities
The Nanganallur area will see outages on Bhagat Singh Street, Muthu Mohammed Street, Puzhuthivakkam Corporation Office and Main Road. Additionally affected are Rajeshwari Nagar, Ullagaram, Sengalvarayan Street, Thangavel Street, Union Carbide Colony and Velayutham Street.
Kundrathur's power supply suspension will impact Kundrathur Main Road and MS Nagar. Senthil Nagar and Bhell Nagar are also included. Other affected areas include Sri Jayandra Saraswathi Nagar and Amman Nagar. Shanmuga Nagar and Jayalakshmi Nagar will face outages too. Aarthi Industrial Estate and Sathyanarayanapuram are also listed along with Ponniamman Koil Street. Parts of Vigneshwara Nagar and RE Nagar 6th and 7th Streets will be without electricity as well.
Selaiyur and Alandur Regions
In Selaiyur, the power cut will affect Ambedkar Nagar and Agram Main Road. Jegajeevan Ram Nagar is included along with Airman Enclave. Indra Nagar Part is affected too. IAF Road residents should prepare for the outage as well as those in Lakshmi Avenue and Extension. Rajkumar Avenue is listed along with Sakthi Avenue. Srinivasa Nagar faces a cut alongside Madha Nagar. Sumeru City is included along with Sundaram Smart City. KVN Nagar residents should expect an outage too.
Alandur's affected areas include MKN Road and Asherkhana. Alandur Main Road is listed alongside Railway Station Road. Market Lane faces a cut along with GST Road. Easwaran Koil Street is included alongside Madurai Street. Karuneegar Street residents should prepare for the outage too.
The maintenance work aims to enhance the reliability of the power supply in these regions by addressing necessary repairs efficiently.
