TANGEDCO has announced that several parts of Chennai will face a power shutdown on Friday, November 21, due to planned maintenance work. The power supply is expected to be restored by 5 pm, and in case the work finishes early, electricity will be resumed sooner.

Areas that will be affected by the power cut include MGR Salai, Santhiappan Salai, Kothandaraman Street, Perungudi, OMR, Kamarajar Nagar, Kurinji Nagar, Anna Nedunj Salai, Nehru Nagar, Kottivakkam, Srinivasa Nagar, Jayendra Colony, Thiruvalluvar Street, Karpaga Vinayagar Street, Telephone Nagar, Church Road, CBI Colony, and nearby locations.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in Chennai until the weekend. There may also be occasional thunderstorms and lightning. These weather conditions are due to the active northeast monsoon currently affecting Tamil Nadu.
According to the forecast, Chennai's maximum temperatures will stay between 29°C and 32°C, while the minimum temperatures will range from 23°C to 25°C. Over the next few days, the city will continue to experience a mix of rain, thunder, and cloudy skies.
Weather updates for Tamil Nadu Till the Weekend
November 20: Heavy rain is expected in a few isolated places, especially in Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai districts.
November 21: Some areas, including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, and Karaikal, may receive heavy rainfall.
November 22: Heavy rain is likely in isolated parts of Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Cuddalore, and Karaikal.
