Bihar, the land of monasteries is getting ready to become the land of the world's largest Ramayan Temple by 2025 as the work has started on 20th June 2023.

The construction work started in the East Champaran district with the religious rituals as per reports. And it is stated that the upcoming "Ramayan Temple" will be surpassing the height of the Angkor Wat temple complex situated in Cambodia from the 12th Century. It is to be noted that the overall cost estimated for the temple work is INR 500 crores.
By the end of 2025, it's planned that the three-story Virat Ramayan temple will be finished. According to the source, the temple will be located on a 3.76 lakh square foot tract of land near the villages of Kaithwalia and Bahuara, about 120 km from Patna.
Architecture:
There will be twelve domes on the Ramayan temple, with the highest reaching a height of 270 feet. The complex would also have wedding halls and guest cottages in addition to about 22 sanctum sanctorum devoted to various deities.

According to reports, the temple will have total dimensions which will be 2,800 feet long, 1,400 feet wide, and 405 feet tall. Notably, the temple will also have a 33-foot-tall, 200-ton black granite Shivling. This Shivling is being made in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. According to the officials, it would be the biggest Shivling in the world and should be finished by Mahashivratri in 2025.
A maximum of 20,000 people can be accommodated at once in the temple. Officials, including Justice SN Jha, a former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, and Acharya Kishor Kunal, the secretary of the Patna-based Mahavir Temple Trust, lay the temple's foundation stone.
