Several parts of Bhopal are expected to witness scheduled power cuts on Saturday, May 9, 2026, due to maintenance and electricity-related works being carried out by the power department. According to the latest update, around 25 areas across the city will experience electricity disruptions lasting between two and six hours.
Residents living in areas such as Hoshangabad Road, Patel Nagar, Chuna Bhatti, Anand Nagar, Chanakyapuri, and New Kabadikhan have been advised to complete important electrical and household work in advance to avoid inconvenience during the shutdown period.
Power Cut From 8 AM to 10 AM
Electricity supply will remain affected in the following areas during the morning hours:
- Hoshangabad Road
- Sagar Royal Villas and Homes
- Surendra Landmark
- Ganesh Nagar and nearby localities
Residents in these areas may experience a temporary interruption in regular electricity supply as maintenance work is scheduled during this period.
Power Outage Between 9 AM and 2 PM
Power supply will also remain disrupted in a few residential colonies and nearby areas from 9 AM to 2 PM. Affected areas include:
- Signature Residency Colony
- Sagar Premium Tower
- Signature 99 Colony
- Surrounding residential pockets
People residing in these locations are advised to keep essential devices charged and make necessary arrangements in advance.
Electricity Supply Affected From 10 AM to 4 PM
A longer power shutdown has been scheduled in several parts of the city during the daytime.
The following areas are likely to remain affected:
- Patel Nagar
- Anand Nagar
- Ishan Complex
- Ishan Colony
- Omega Colony and surrounding areas
Apart from these areas, electricity supply will also remain affected in:
- Rambhanagar
- New Kabadikhan
- Ibrahimganj
- Gurunanak Colony
- Shanti Nagar and nearby areas
The maintenance work is expected to continue for several hours, and supply is likely to return once the scheduled work is completed.
Chuna Bhatti and Chanakyapuri to Face Midday Power Cuts
Another set of localities in Bhopal will witness electricity disruption from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. These areas include:
- Chuna Bhatti
- Sagar Campus
- Chanakyapuri
- Vardhaman Campus
- Gangotri Heights
- Paraspar Colony and surrounding areas
The electricity department has stated that the shutdown is part of planned maintenance activities aimed at improving supply systems and preventing technical faults in the future.
Residents Advised to Plan Ahead
Since multiple residential and commercial localities are expected to remain without electricity for several hours, residents have been advised to complete important tasks beforehand. People working from home, students attending online classes, and shop owners dependent on uninterrupted electricity may especially need to make alternate arrangements during the scheduled outage period.
Authorities have indicated that power supply will be restored gradually after the completion of maintenance work in the affected zones.
