Bengaluru, already dealing with above-normal heat, is expected to get some relief as the India Meteorological Department predicts rain and thunderstorms from April 28, while also flagging unstable weather and lightning for several other parts of South Peninsular India over the same period.

Over the last 24 hours, temperatures in Bengaluru have stayed high, with the India Meteorological Department noting a maximum of 37°C and a minimum of 23°C. The agency's latest seven-day outlook indicates mostly steady conditions at first, with only partly cloudy skies and moderate humidity expected, and no formal warnings issued up to April 27.

Further south, the India Meteorological Department's outlook for South Peninsular India includes light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 30-50 kmph over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on April 28 and 29, pointing to a wider spell of unsettled pre-monsoon weather beyond Karnataka.
