Bengaluru Traffic Police Implement Measures For Doddigunta Dasara Utsava On October 19-20

Bengaluru Traffic Police announce significant traffic restrictions for the Doddigunta Dasara Utsava on October 19-20. These measures aim to manage vehicle flow and enhance safety during the festival.

To ensure the orderly progression of the Doddigunta Dasara Palllaki Utsava, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have put into place significant traffic measures for October 19 and 20. The festival, hosted by the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple Committee, necessitates these adjustments within the Pulakeshinagar Traffic Police Station's jurisdiction. Commencing at 9:00 AM on October 19 and concluding at 11:00 PM the following day, these restrictions aim to facilitate the smooth flow of vehicles around the event area.

Amidst these restrictions, specific roads will see a halt in vehicular movement. Pottery Road stretching from MM Road Junction to Doddagunta Circle and the Assaye Road Junction will be closed off in both directions. Furthermore, Assaye Road will see closures from Sundaramurthy Road Junction to Tambuchetty Road and onwards to the MM Road-Pottery Road Junction. The stretch from Ramakrishnappa Road PSK Naidu Road Junction towards Assaye Road will also be restricted.

For those navigating around Doddagunta Circle via MM Road, alternative routes will be through Lazar Road and Buddha Vihara Road, leading to Assaye Road via Sindhi Colony Junction. Similarly, Tambuchetty Road traffic will be redirected through Buddavihara Road to Kenchappa Road, and vehicles on Ramakrishnappa Road will be guided onto PSK Naidu Road, continuing onto Assaye Road. These detours are designed to minimize congestion and maintain traffic flow during the festival.

Parking will also undergo temporary restrictions across several vital roads, including MM Road, Doddagunta Circle, Sundaramurthy Road, and Webster Road, from October 19 to 20. This measure will further aid in managing the increased vehicle presence and ensuring that the festival's proceedings go uninterrupted.

In a related note, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is undertaking a project to replace a 1,000-mm diameter STP pipeline as part of Phase 2A on Outer Ring Road. This construction activity, occurring near the 27th Main Road flyover down a ramp to Iblur Government School, will continue until Sunday. Consequently, the main carriageway will be closed, directing traffic to the service road to accommodate the ongoing work.

These comprehensive traffic adjustments and restrictions underscore the efforts of the Bengaluru Traffic Police and other authorities to manage the influx of vehicles and pedestrians during significant events and construction activities. By planning ahead and adhering to the advised detours and restrictions, residents and visitors can contribute to a smoother traffic flow and a more enjoyable festival experience.
