After several days of heatwave conditions, people in Bengaluru can expect some relief soon as pre-monsoon rains are likely to arrive. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms starting from April 28.

In the last 24 hours, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 24.6°C. The weather in the coming week is expected to be more comfortable compared to recent days. According to IMD, rain activity is likely between April 28 and May 1, with repeated spells of showers and thunderstorms, especially during the evenings. Although daytime temperatures may remain in the mid-30s, the overall weather will feel more pleasant due to cloud cover and rainfall, giving some relief from the heat. For today, light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of the city, mainly in the second half of the day. Gusty winds with 40-50 kmph are also likely. The maximum temperature may reach around 37°C, while the minimum could be about 24°C. The sky is expected to be mostly clear in the morning and turn partly cloudy by the afternoon.
Thunderstorm Alert in Bengaluru
On April 29, there is a high chance of thunderstorms across Bengaluru, along with cloudy skies and light to moderate rain. Winds may blow at speeds of 30-40 kmph. The temperature is expected to stay around 37°C during the day and drop to about 23°C at night. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue on April 30 as well, though daytime temperatures will remain warm, with a high of around 36°C and a low of 23°C. On May 1, light to moderate rain with gusty winds of 30-40 kmph is likely. The maximum temperature may fall to around 35°C, while the minimum could be about 22°C.
