sudden rain created chaos instead.

Bengaluru Rain Alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert. The city is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the city, followed by gusty winds of 30-40 kmph during the evening and night hours.

Bengaluru's Rain Caused Havoc

Several localities were flooded, and roads were waterlogged. Many office-goers faced difficulties on their way back home. Thousands of people were stuck at Metro stations, outside their offices, and at bus stops as water levels rose above ankle height in some places. In areas such as Sultanpet and Kamaraj Road, many vehicles were partially submerged in water. Pedestrians also struggled to walk safely due to hidden manholes and damaged pavements.

After the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert, residents began questioning whether the city is truly prepared to handle such rainfall.

Residents' Concerns

Rahul Goyal, a trader from SJP Road, raised concerns about the lack of preventive measures. He said that dug-up roads, potholes, and open manholes are dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians. He also pointed out that drains should be cleaned properly and the waste should not be left on the streets. According to him, SJP Road was completely flooded, making travel very difficult.

Dakshinya P from Mahadevapura shared a similar experience. She said that while she was initially happy to see the rain, the situation quickly worsened. Within a short time, the road from her bus stop to her home was flooded. She questioned why authorities rely on temporary fixes instead of finding long-term solutions.

However, people who stayed indoors enjoyed the cool weather and relief from the heat. Some residents appreciated the fresh air, cloudy skies, and the calm feeling of the rain.
