Thundershowers hit the eastern and southeastern parts of Bengaluru, bringing a sharp drop in temperature and relief from recent heat. The rains, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, caused the temperature in some areas to fall below 20°C, which is unusual for this time of year. These sudden showers came

after days of high temperatures and humid weather. The change was quick, with intense heat during the day turning into heavy rain in the evening. Such weather shifts are common during the pre-monsoon season, when warm air rises and forms storm clouds.
Bengaluru Rains
According to weather data, different parts of the city experienced varying levels of rainfall. While some central areas received heavy rain and even hailstorms, the eastern and southeastern regions saw moderate showers. Despite this variation, the rain was enough to cool down the surroundings significantly. The drop in temperature was noticeable, especially at night. In some places, the minimum temperature dipped below normal levels, going under 20°C. This provided much-needed relief for residents who had been dealing with rising heat in recent weeks.
Rain Caused Disruptions
However, the rains also caused minor disruptions. Strong winds and lightning affected traffic and daily activities in certain areas. Waterlogging was reported in a few low-lying locations, making commuting difficult for some people.
Bengaluru Rain Alert
Weather officials have predicted that such thundershowers may continue in the coming days. The pre-monsoon period often brings unpredictable weather, including sudden rain, thunderstorms, and occasional hail.
