Recent evening showers have brought much-needed relief from the intense summer heat in Bengaluru. According to the India Meteorological Department, the city recorded about 1.5 mm of rainfall by 8:30 pm, which marks the first pre-monsoon rain of April, giving residents a break from the rising temperatures.

Bengaluru's High Temperatures
Before the rain, the city had been experiencing very hot and dry weather with high temperatures due to clear skies and a lack of rainfall, making conditions uncomfortable for people. The sudden showers in the evening helped cool down the surroundings and improved the weather, even if only slightly.
Weather Changes
Such pre-monsoon rains are common this time of the year and are often called seasonal or convective showers, which usually occur in the late afternoon or evening due to heat buildup during the day. As the warm air rises, it leads to cloud formation and eventually rainfall. This process helps lower temperatures and provides temporary relief from the heat.
Bengaluru Rain Alert
Weather experts believe that similar conditions may occur in the coming days, with chances of more cloud cover and light showers in the evenings. While the rainfall may not be very heavy, it can still help reduce daytime temperatures and make the weather more comfortable.
However, the relief is likely to be temporary, as temperatures may rise again during the day. People are advised to stay prepared for both warm days and occasional rain, as the city is experiencing the onset of the monsoon season.
