Bengaluru Power Cut, July 9: Several parts of Bengaluru are set to witness a scheduled power outage on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) undertakes emergency maintenance, power line quality improvement, and other urgent works. According to the utility, power supply is expected to remain disrupted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in several localities, although electricity may be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, including charging essential electronic devices and ensuring backup power wherever required.

Why Is There a Power Cut?
According to BESCOM, the shutdown has been scheduled to facilitate emergency maintenance work, power line quality improvement, and urgent repair works aimed at strengthening the city's electricity distribution network.

Residents in the affected localities are advised to charge mobile phones, laptops, inverters and other essential devices before the scheduled shutdown. Commercial establishments, IT offices, hospitals and businesses that rely on uninterrupted electricity should ensure adequate backup arrangements to minimise inconvenience during the maintenance period.
Power supply is expected to be restored once the scheduled maintenance and repair works are completed.
