Bengaluru Power Cut on July 17: BESCOM Announces Daily 4-Hour Outage for One Week in Multiple Areas

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced planned power outages in and around Devanahalli from July 17 to July 24, 2025. These outages are necessary for infrastructure upgrades along key transmission lines. The scheduled shutdowns will occur daily between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

According to BESCOM's official notice, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) will replace conductors on the 66 kV Doddaballapura-Devanahalli transmission line. This line is connected to the 220 kV Doddaballapura power station, affecting multiple 66/11 kV substations in the region.

Areas Affected Under Kundana Substation Bengaluru Rural DC Office, Kundana Gram Panchayat, Koyira Gram Panchayat, Aluru-Duddanahalli region
Purpose To ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply by upgrading key transmission infrastructure

Several areas are expected to experience these scheduled power cuts. In Devanahalli, this includes Devanahalli Town and residential layouts. Other affected areas are Gokare, Bhuvanahalli, Yartiganahalli, Chikkasanne, Avati, Bidalur, Vishwanathapura, Bommawara, Yaliyur, Chimachanahalli, Kannamangala, Sannaamanikere, Hiranandani, Koyira, Tailagere, Gobbaragunte, Koramangala and nearby villages.

Additionally, regions under the Kundana substation will also face outages. These include Bengaluru Rural DC office, Kundana Gram Panchayat, Koyira Gram Panchayat and Aluru-Duddanahalli area. Residents in these zones should prepare for the scheduled power interruptions.

Purpose of Maintenance Work

BESCOM has urged residents, farmers and commercial users in affected areas to cooperate during this essential maintenance work. The utility company assures that these upgrades aim to provide a more stable and uninterrupted power supply in the future.

Lakshmikant, the assistant executive engineer of Devanahalli BESCOM operations division confirmed the schedule. Lakshmikant requested all power users in affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the four-hour outage window.
