The Namma Metro Blue Line project in Bengaluru is moving forward, with new trains expected to arrive soon. According to reports, the first set of Blue Line trains is likely to be delivered by May, which are manufactured by BEML as part of a larger order that includes many train sets for the metro network.

Possibility of Delays in Trial Runs
However, even though the trains are arriving, there could be delays in starting trial runs on the route because the connection to the depot is not yet ready. A depot is an important facility where trains are parked, maintained, and prepared for operations. Without a proper link between the tracks and the depot, it becomes difficult to begin testing the trains on the line.
Bengaluru Metro's Blue Line
As the Blue Line is an important metro corridor connecting key areas of the city, especially along the Outer Ring Road and eventually extending to the airport, authorities plan to open parts of the line in phases, but trial runs are a necessary step before public services can begin.
Incomplete Depot Connection
Due to the incomplete depot connection, officials may have to wait before starting these trials, which could affect the timeline for opening the metro line to the public. Even if trains are ready, testing cannot begin until all infrastructure, including the depot link, is fully prepared. However, the project is still advancing, but some more work is needed before the Blue Line becomes operational for passengers.
