The plan for Namma Metro's longest line in Bengaluru is now ready, marking a major step in improving the city's transport network. This new metro corridor will be around 73 km long, including a special 5-km branch line that will connect directly to a proposed large sports stadium.

Bengaluru Metro's New Corridor to Pass Through Several Areas
The main route is expected to pass through key areas such as Bannerghatta, Jigani, Attibele, Sarjapur, and Varthur. These locations are important because they include fast-growing residential zones and major IT hubs, and the metro line aims to reduce traffic congestion and provide better connectivity for daily commuters by covering these areas.
How will this Metro line Benefit Commuters?
One of the most important features of this project is the 5-km spur line leading to the new sports complex. This stadium is planned to have a very large seating capacity, making it suitable for major events. The metro link will make it easier for people to travel to and from the venue without depending heavily on road transport.
The project is part of a larger effort by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to expand metro services across the city. Officials believe that such long routes will not only improve public transport but also increase metro ridership significantly. However, better connectivity between outer areas and central parts is expected to save travel time and reduce pollution.
