All Gates of T2 And T3 At Indira Gandhi International Airport Will Have DigiYatra By March End

"Mera desh badal raha hai aage badh raha hai", heard this right? It is actually happening slowly and gradually. Making airport travel comfortable for passengers is a continuing goal of Delhi International Airport Ltd, a partnership led by GMR Airport Infrastructure Limited that operates and manages the Indira Gandhi International (lGI) Airport.

DIAL launched DigiYatra, a platform that employs facial recognition technology to authenticate a traveler's identity the previous year in 2022 in an effort to make air travel easy and hassle-free for passengers.

After experiencing such a resounding success, Delhi Airport is now preparing to roll out DigiYatra to additional terminals. In keeping with this, DIAL declared a great news on month start that by the end of March, all entry & boarding gates at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 will be DigiYatra-enabled.

Major Benefits of using DigiYatra at IGI:

40 percent of domestic travellers will experience a smooth entry into the terminal, security check area, and boarding gates following the successful implementation of the DigiYatra infrastructure at Terminal 3 & Terminal 2.

During busy times, they will be able to save 15 to 25 minutes by just needing to spend a short amount of time at each touch point between the entry gate and security checks.
Also, they will get benefit from entering the Pre-Embarkation Security Check (PESC) area through the exclusive DigiYatra channel.

What is DigiYatra?

DigiYatra is an Indian digital platform that streamlines and improves the experience of flying for passengers by utilizing facial recognition technology. The initiative guarantees quicker passenger movement to boarding gates via this designated, contactless channel.

The facility is currently only accessible through the Terminal 3 gate. Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, launched DigiYatra on 1st December 2022. At Terminal 3's single gate, where a single machine had previously been installed, two machines are now in use. Two machines both at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 will cover each gate, according to the officials.

As mentioned above, on 1st December 2022, DigiYatra was introduced to guarantee travellers a smooth and first-rate airport experience. Since its introduction, it has considerably decreased the amount of time travellers must wait to enter terminals, go through security checks, and board airplanes. Using DigiYatra, passenger numbers are gradually increasing.

The goal is to increase the number of passengers utilising DigiYatra, which is now used daily by about 2,500 people. By using DigiYatra, travellers can be confident they'll have plenty of downtime to spend with loved ones at the airport taking and spending some really good moments rather than doing the hustle and bustle at the airport.

How to use Digiyatra?

To take advantage of these perks, travellers only need to register their face on the DigiYatra app & verify them with the Aadhaar database before arriving at the airport. Uploading your trip barcodes will allow you to share them with the airport. By doing this, they will avoid having to wait in line to enter the terminal for security checkpoints.

DIAL's dedicated & exclusive call center at 0124-4797311/0120-6838400 is available to help passengers who are having trouble enrolling on DigiYatra. Moreover, DIAL has established assistance desks at terminals 2 & 3 as well.
