Metro Official's Statement

According to a spokesperson of Metro Railway, the issue was caused by a tripping of the power supply. As a result, escalators and lifts at the three stations stopped working for about 30 minutes. The disruption started at around 7.27 pm and continued until power was restored at around 8 pm.

Officials clarified that although some facilities were affected, metro train services continued as usual. There was no impact on the movement of trains on the Airport-Noapara line, and services remained on schedule throughout the incident.

Temporary Shutdowns

The temporary shutdown of escalators and lifts caused difficulties for several passengers, especially elderly people, women, and differently abled commuters. Many of them had to use staircases or wait for the facilities to resume, leading to discomfort during the evening rush hours.

Metro Official's Take into the Matter

However, Metro Railway officials said that not all systems were affected by the power disruption. The air circulation, ventilation systems, and air conditioning at the three stations continued to function normally. This helped maintain a comfortable environment for passengers despite the brief inconvenience.

Metro authorities have stated that they are currently looking into the cause of the power supply tripping. An investigation is underway to find out what led to the disruption and to ensure that such incidents can be avoided in the future.
Officials assured commuters that necessary steps will be taken to improve reliability and minimise inconvenience. They also requested passengers to cooperate during such unexpected situations and said efforts are being made to keep metro services safe and smooth for all users.
