Since its debut in November 2022, the well-known chatbot ChatGPT from Open AI has gained international recognition. Everyone, from people to businesses, seems to be jumping on the ChatGPT bandwagon, with Tata-owned Air India becoming the newest industry to join in.
The carrier is already testing the Artificial intelligence chatbots in its systems as it seeks to switch to algorithm-based software. The carrier is already experiencing a significant makeover under its new owner, Tata Group. A popular chatbot from OpenAI called ChatGPT is being adopted by the erstwhile government-owned company Air India to replace manual processes.
The Vistara and Air India merger and the incorporation of the low-cost airline's Air India Express & AirAsia India are two more ways that the Tata Group is combining the Tata-related airlines. The Tata-owned airline made a record deal last month for 470 aircraft as part of its development plans, with 250 coming from the European planemaker Airbus as well as 220 from the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, at a list price of more than $70 billion.
Air India is merging with Vistara, while low-cost airlines, Air India Express & AirAsia India are also coming together, in addition to overhauling every area of operations, from systems to supply chains. Modern "revenue management" software routinely predicts where flyers are interested in going & how much each specific flyer is ready to pay, as opposed to the antiquated approach of having one rate for each block of seats.
As a result, the company's transformation has low-hanging fruit because the revenue per flight increases. It is challenging for the airline to succeed as Wilson must negotiate a tangle of fleets and staff that is as challenging to negotiate as Delhi's twisty roadways.
Because it wants to utilize Air India's magnitude and impact to make India a global aviation giant like Dubai or Singapore, the success of the airline is essential for PM Narendra Modi's administration as well. Wilson's new immediate goal is to deal with pressing difficulties in order to get idle aeroplane before Air India starts receiving the 470 jets it purchased in a record deal last month.

Early indications of success include that as compared to April to June, the international traffic of Air India has increased by 28%, and as of the end of February, its domestic share had increased to 9% from 7.5% at the beginning of 2022.
These numbers should rise sharply when Air India & Vistara merge, but this merger also brings new challenges. Under the leadership of the Tata Group business, which reclaimed control of the airline last year after it had been nationalized for over seven decades, Air India is forging ahead with an ambitious revival.
