While exploring Nandi Hills, travellers must visit a 600 metres high cliff, known as Tipu's Drop. According to historical facts, this cliff was used as a punishing ground for the convicts. Prisoners serving death sentence were pushed down from the Tipu's drop. This site is situated on top of the Nandi Hills and from this point the tourists can see the beautiful hill ranges.
Travellers visiting Tipu's Drop on a windy night can hear the rustling noise of the leaves of the trees. As per the local belief, this rustling noise is the wailing of the prisoners who were pushed from the Tipu's Drop.
