The Ganeshdham is a popular temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The main attraction of the temple is the massive 35-foot statue of Ganesha. The statue was installed by two prominent locals some years ago. Two rivers flow alongside the Ganeshdham adding to its natural beauty. The complex also houses a massive idol of another Hindu deity, Lord Hanuman.

The Hanuman Dham is a huge temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. A massive 72 foot statue of Hanuman stands tall at the site. It was constructed in the later part of the 17th century by two prominent devotees, Sudarshan Singh Chakra and Inder Kumar.

The area in front of the idol opens into a courtyard which is often crowded by visitors and tourists. Behind there are shrines dedicated to Lord Rama, Shri Radha Krishna and also a hut that was made for Sudarshan Singh Chakra.

The Bhairon Ka Mandir is one of Muzzafarnagar’s most prominent temples. It is famous because it houses eleven Shiv Lingas. The temple is managed by a family of Brahmins who look after all the administrative and festive tasks. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees and is especially crowded on Shivratri and other auspicious days.

The Zoology Museum is located within the campus of the Sanatan Dharam College in Muzzafarnagar. The museum was started by the P.G department of the college in 1970 to showcase different kinds of animals. The insect gallery here is one of the main attractions. The Durga Dham is a popular site for worshippers of Goddess Durga. A huge and beautiful 51 foot statue lies at the site next to Lord Shiva. There is also a natural cave at the site. The dham attracts hordes of worshippers during religious festivals, especially navratris.

The Kamla Nehru Vatika is a beautiful landscaped garden named after the wife of Jawahar Lal Nehru. There are several fruit-bearing trees in the garden. When the fruits ripen, they are auctioned off. The local Nagar Palika authorities look after the site and maintain the trees and fruits throughout the year.

The Akshya Vat Vriksh is a tree in Muzaffarnagar that dates back to thousands of years. It is believed that Sage Sukha Dev narrated the Srimad Bhagavat to King Parikshit sitting under this tree. Hence, the tree became an icon of sanctity and worship. Thousands of devotees visit the tree to perform Parikrama and pay tribute to the Hindu gods and goddesses.

Vahelna is a small village located on the outskirts of the city of Muzaffarnagar. The village is famous for its iron factories and abundant sugarcane crop. It also has several prominent religious centres of worship, namely Jain Mandir, Shiv Mandir and a mosque that share a common wall. This is also historically significant because it is one of the few places in which Hindus and Muslims live in harmony.

The Kali Nadi Devi Mandir is one of the oldest temples in the town having a great mythological significance. A big yearly Bhandara is held on Devi Chaudas. The Government Educational Museum was established in 1959 with the aim to represent India’s rich past. The museum is famous for its vast collection of metal images, terracotta statues, coins and stone sculptures. Several different kinds of paintings, stamps and cannons are also displayed here.

Shukratal is a well known religious town in the district. It is the place where Rishi Shuka is said to have narrated the Bhagwat Purana for 7 days before being bitten to death by a snake as per the prophecy.
