Mayurbhanj Weather

Winter is the best time to visit Mayurbhanj. Winter has the best mix of optimal sunlight, humidity, temperature and rainfall. The temperatures average around 28° Celsius. December and January are the coldest months with temperatures around 15° Celsius. Winter ranges from late October to early February.

Summer

Summers in Mayurbhanj live up to the expectations that foreigners have of the “Great Indian Summer”. The heat and dry weather can be hard to endure. April and May are the hottest months of the year, with temperatures averaging around 35° Celsius.

Monsoon

The monsoons in Mayurbhanj are the longest of the three seasons ranging from late May to early October. August however sees the highest rainfall. Temperatures hover between 32° and 30° Celsius.  

Winter

Winter months offer the best sights and sounds of Mayurbhanj. Diwali and Navaratra are also celebrated in winter and are a pleasure to behold. The wildlife in Similipal National Park is best seen in winter when the rainfall is at a minimum.
