Usri Waterfalls

The falls is located about 13 km from the town. The water gushing down the river amidst the Parasnath Hill is a treat to the eyes for each and every traveller.

Parasnath Hill

Parasnath Hill is a Jain pilgrimage site believed to be the place where twenty of the twenty four Tirthankaras along with many other saints attained Nirvana here. These hills are considered to be the highest peak in Jharkhand. The hill is surrounded by dense forest known as Madhuban. Tourists interested in trekking have to start from Madhuban. The hills of Parasnath is surrounded by thick forest with Usri Falls along the hills.

Harihar Dham

The Harihar Dham located about 60 km from Giridih is a famous Shivalinga temple and is known for the largest Shiva Linga with a height of about 65 feet. Nag Panchami is celebrated here at this monument and many marriage ceremonies take place at this temple due to its religious importance.

How to Reach Giridih

By Air: A landing airstrip fulfills some of the necessities. Boro aerodrom is located at the headquarter of Giridih. The nearest airport is Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, which is located at a distance of 155 km from Giridih.

By Train: Giridih railway station is well connected to other parts of Eastern India. Some trains on the Howrah-Delhi line halt at this station.

By Road: Giridih has a bus terminus in the center of the town. A Government bus terminus is just adjacent to the main bus terminus. There are regular bus services from the city to other parts in Giridih. Taxi facilities are also available in the city for travellers to commute.
