Kharsali village, situated 1 km from Janki Chatti, serves as the winter seat of Goddess Yamuna. During winter, when Yamunotri becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall, the idol of Goddess Yamuna is brought to Kharsali.
Saptarishi Kund, a high-altitude lake located 10 km from Yamunotri, is another must-visit place. This glacial lake is considered the origin of the Yamuna River. The trek to Saptarishi Kund is challenging but rewarding.
