Several parts of Maharashtra are expected to receive widespread rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next few days as the southwest monsoon remains active across the state. According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy to severe rainfall is likely in parts of Konkan, the Western Ghats and Central Maharashtra.

Therefore, the weather department has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for several districts.
Maharashtra Rain Alert & Mumbai to Receive Rainfall
In the Konkan region, Palghar is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms. Mumbai and Thane are also expected to witness moderate showers. A Yellow alert has been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, where rainfall is expected to continue.
In North Maharashtra, Dhule and Nashik are likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, while the Nashik Ghatmatha region may witness moderate rainfall. Ahilyanagar is expected to receive light rain and thundershowers.
In western Maharashtra, Pune may experience light rain with thunderstorms. An Orange alert has been issued for the Kolhapur Ghatmatha region due to the possibility of heavy rain. Kolhapur and Satara are expected to receive light to moderate showers, while the Satara Ghatmatha region remains under a Yellow alert. Sangli is likely to see light rain with thunderstorms, and Solapur may receive light to moderate rainfall.
In the Marathwada region, Yellow alerts have been issued for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded and Akola. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is also expected in Beed, Latur and Dharashiv.
In Vidarbha, Orange alerts have been issued for Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur. Orange alerts are also in place for Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Nagpur, Washim, Yavatmal and Wardha, where heavy rainfall is likely.
