Indian Railways is planning to introduce a new Amrit Bharat Express train connecting Cherlapalli near Hyderabad with Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu. This new service will create an important rail link across three southern states: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, making travel more convenient for passengers in the region.

Improvement of Long-Distance Connectivity
According to railway officials, the train will improve long-distance connectivity and make it easier for people to travel between major cities and smaller towns. Many passengers currently face difficulties due to limited direct train options, and this new service is expected to reduce the need for multiple train changes.
Starting & Ending Points
The train will start from Cherlapalli railway station, which is emerging as an important railway hub near Hyderabad. From there, it will pass through several major stations across southern India before reaching its final destination at Nagercoil, located near the southern tip of Tamil Nadu. During its journey, the train will pass through important stations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, connecting different regions along the route. This will be especially helpful for passengers travelling for work, education, tourism, and religious visits.
Railway authorities believe that the new train will provide a direct connection between Telangana and southern Tamil Nadu, making travel smoother and more efficient for passengers.
Amrit Bharat Express Trains
Amrit Bharat Express trains are mainly designed for affordable long-distance travel. Unlike premium trains such as Vande Bharat Express, these services focus on providing improved facilities at lower ticket prices so that regular passengers can travel comfortably. These trains usually have general unreserved coaches and sleeper class coaches, allowing a large number of passengers to travel at economical fares. The coaches have modern features such as bio-vacuum toilets, CCTV cameras, enhanced safety systems, and improved passenger facilities.
Once launched, the Cherlapalli-Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express is expected to become an important rail link between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, helping passengers travel across southern India.
