for passengers to know exact arrival times, as information on display boards and mobile apps kept changing.

Affected Vande Bharat Express Trains

Among the affected trains were two Vande Bharat Express services. The Amb Andaura-Chandigarh Vande Bharat arrived at the station about 1 hour and 20 minutes late, while the Ajmer-Chandigarh Vande Bharat reached around 35 minutes after its scheduled time. These delays happened because the trains left their starting points late due to the dense fog covering the region.

Kalka Shatabdi Express Got Delayed

The Kalka Shatabdi Express, another important premium train, was also delayed by around 2 hours, and the Daulatpur Chowk-Chandigarh Jan Shatabdi Express arrived about 25 minutes late. Several long-distance trains from eastern parts of India, such as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, faced even longer delays. The Lucknow-Chandigarh Superfast Express was late by nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes, and the Sadbhavna Express and Chaarbagh-Chandigarh Superfast Express were delayed by roughly 1 hour and 50 minutes each.

List of Delayed Trains

Other trains like the Goa Sampark Kranti Express, the Unchahaar Express, and the Netaji Express also reached the station later than scheduled, adding to the inconvenience for travellers. Many passengers waiting at Chandigarh station had to deal with long waiting times and confusion over revised schedules.

Railway officials said trains had to run slower and undergo extra safety checks because of the poor visibility caused by the fog. They advised travellers to check live train statuses and listen for official updates before starting their journeys. Efforts were ongoing to get services back to normal as weather conditions improved.
