Bhubaneswar to Launch Direct Flights to Ghaziabad and Port Blair from March 30

Bhubaneswar is set to improve its air connectivity with new direct flights to Ghaziabad and Port Blair. This expansion will help make travel easier for passengers and boost tourism and business in the region. The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has taken this initiative to develop Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) as a major travel hub.

Bhubaneswar to Launch New Direct Flights

Daily Flights to Ghaziabad and Port Blair

Starting from March 30, Air India Express will operate daily flights between Bhubaneswar, Ghaziabad, and Port Blair. This move is part of Odisha's new destination policy, which aims to strengthen air travel within India. The direct flights will provide a convenient travel option for people visiting these cities for business, tourism, or personal reasons.

Earlier Flight Expansions

This new addition comes after the Odisha government launched direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, and Patna in January. The government also introduced direct flights from Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA) in Jharsuguda to Hyderabad, Raipur, and Lucknow. With the inclusion of Ghaziabad and Port Blair, Bhubaneswar's flight network will expand even further, making it easier for travelers to reach more destinations.

Boost for Tourism and Economy

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has welcomed this development and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the aviation sector. He said that the new daily flights will help tourism, trade, and economic growth in Odisha. With better connectivity, more travelers will visit Bhubaneswar, leading to business opportunities and an increase in tourism-related activities.

The government's efforts to improve air connectivity show a strong commitment to economic development. These direct flights will not only make travel more convenient for residents but also attract more visitors to the city. As Bhubaneswar prepares to welcome these new flight services, the initiative is expected to strengthen the region's tourism, trade, and commerce, making it an important travel hub in the country.
