This Republic Day, Lalbagh Botanical Garden will come alive with colours and fragrances as it hosts the 219th Lalbagh Flower Show. The event has held from 14 January to 26 January and will run for 13 days. It is one of Karnataka's most popular and eagerly awaited events, attracting visitors from across the state and beyond.

Formal Inauguration
The flower show will begin with a formal inauguration at 4 pm on 14 January at Lalbagh's famous Glass House. The ceremony will be attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and members of the Tejaswi family. The garden will open to the public at 5 pm, welcoming visitors into a space where flowers, art, culture, and nature come together beautifully.
2026 Theme
This year's theme honours Poornachandra Tejaswi, a well-known writer, environmentalist, and nature lover. His deep connection with forests, wildlife, and village life is reflected in the floral displays. Visitors can see flower-based recreations of forest scenes, animal figures, and important moments inspired by his writings.
Highlights of the Exhibition
The exhibition also features artificial hills, small flowing streams, and miniature village setups inspired by the Biligirirangana Hills. Karnataka's folk culture is highlighted through displays of dollu kunita, traditional crafts, and creative recreations such as Nandigiri Dham, all designed using flowers and plants.
Organisers have used more than 95 varieties of flowers sourced from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Darjeeling, and Wayanad. Around 32 lakh flowers will decorate the garden, with most of them grown within Lalbagh itself. Special care has been taken to protect the plants while creating eye-catching designs.
Entry Tickets
Entry tickets cost ₹80 on weekdays and ₹100 on holidays for adults, while children's tickets are ₹30. Children below six years can enter for free. With over 10 lakh visitors expected, special arrangements have been made for parking and crowd control. The Lalbagh Flower Show 2026 promises a memorable experience celebrating nature, literature, and Karnataka's rich cultural heritage.
