Pabha Sanctuary, National Parks in Assam

The Pabha Sanctuary is located in Lakhimpur district of Assam. The small sanctuary covering about 49 sq km, is also known as the Milroy Sanctuary. The Pabha Sanctuary has been specially created to protect the Asiatic Water Buffalo.

The sanctuary which is located in the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam is very beautiful. Tourists from all over the world visit the place mainly for its natural scenery. The sanctuary also sees migratory birds flocking here every year. These birds dwell on the tree tops and create quite a spectacular view for the nature lovers.

Lakhimpur district is located approximately 370 km from Guwahati, which has the only international airport of the region. The nearest town is Lakhimpur. It is not very difficult to travel to this small sanctuary as it is well connected. The best time to spot animals is during the winters from the months of November to April.
