A trek of moderate difficulty, the trek to the Mystery Lake of Uttarakhand or Roopkund Lake is a must for an eager trekker who is ready to battle several adversities which are common in the Himalayas. The lake is located in the lap of the snow-covered Mt Trishul, which is situated at an altitude of of 16,499 ft.
Well known for the presence of human skeletons found at the bottom of the lake, which are clearly visible once the snow melts, it attracts a large number of visitors.
The route followed in this trek is indeed a fascinating journey of coming across some of the most pristine contributions of oak and rhododendron trees. The trek finds its way through mountainous rivers, enthralling ridges, lush forests along with scenic meadows.
