According to reports, the Rajasthan government is preparing to introduce full moon tourism, where guests would be transported to isolated locations to soak in the view of the starry night sky. Visitors would have the chance to see the starry heavens that people frequently overlook in their regular life.

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the state government has addressed a letter to the Department of Tourism in this regard, which experts in the field have also confirmed.

What is Full Moon Tourism:

Full moon tourism is an outstanding night activity, where visitors can witness the beauty of the night sky by spotting the glamorous moon, distant stars, a few planets, and the overall beauty of the sky. The idea behind full moon tourism is to travel to a remote location at night when the moon is high in the sky and there is little light pollution. This allows travellers to see more stars and other celestial objects than they would during the day, which can be very inspiring.

Full moon tourism can be particularly rewarding if you are an amateur astronomer or simply enjoy looking up at night. Many people go out into their backyards or parks on this night so they can look up at our beautiful universe without any light pollution getting in the way of viewing it properly. But not anymore, now you can be a part of full moon tourism in India as soon as the Rajasthan government launches it. Full moon tourism will surely allow visitors to experience the natural beauty of nature in its most intense form. In addition to enjoying the beauty of nature, full-moon tourists can also gain an understanding of the Night sky, stars, and other celestial objects.

Full Moon Tourism

Full moon tourism has been growing in popularity over recent years due to its ability to provide people with a sense of connection with nature. In addition, full moon tourism allows local businesses to benefit from increased foot traffic at their establishments during this period.

It has been reported that some people who participate in such activities as star gazing find themselves feeling less stressed, more relaxed, and happier when they return home after their trip. This can be attributed to the increased feelings of connectedness with nature that they experienced while away from it.

As previously reported, Rajasthan has also begun to promote astronomical tourism, becoming the first state in the nation to do so. As part of the aforementioned plan, the state government has been holding camps throughout Rajasthan's 33 districts.

The departing secretary of the DST referred to this when she said that the purchase of 38 telescopes under Astro sky tourism had already received permission. The University of Maharaja, the Amber Fort, the Jantar-Mantar, and the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur, which will serve as venues for astronomical events this year, will each have four telescopes installed, he continued. Overall, 33 telescopes will be installed across all districts of Rajasthan, he said.

The DST has implemented a number of novel strategies to uncover underrepresented scientists among students from rural and small towns. It is also said that installing these telescopes in each area will be the idea's next step, giving residents and guests the chance to view the moon, stars, and planets.
