There are many such roads in India which are surely going to lift your spirits even before you reach the destination and at times these roads themselves offer you a rejuvenated feel. Here is a look at six such roads where you should set out on a long drive to remove your weariness.
Leh – Manali Highway
The long stretch of barren land piled with snow and flanked by majestic mountains is how best you can describe the Leh - Manali highway. Situated at an elevation of about 3962.4 mt above sea level, the highway connects four beautiful destinations namely Manali, Zanskar valley, Lahaul and Spiti valley. It is one of the roads that every traveller should take atleast once in their lifetime.

Hill Cart Road
Connecting Bagdodra and Darjeeling, this road has an old world charm about it. The toy train track running parallel to the road is the major attraction here. Of course the lush greenery of the tea gardens enveloping the route is another plus. You may find yourself in the middle of a herd of cattle at several turns and the feeling is absolutely heavenly. A drive along this route is sure to make you fall in love with this place.

Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
Golden desert sand surrounding you for miles while you drive on your chosen path. If this idea appeals to you,then this road will surely win your heart and soul. Apart from driving through one of the most arid regions of the word, the journey will also present you with the opportunity of visiting several tourist attractions en route. It is a perfect way of disconnecting yourself form the bustling city life and connecting yourself with nature.

Srinagar to Leh
If you want to see beauty in treacherous terrains, you need to travel on this road. Its rugged appearance has rightly earned it the title of being 'the Indian Grand Canyon'. With the beautiful landscapes and stories of the historic trade route fighting for your attention, this route has a lot to offer. It is a bliss to drive through here as you feel the sense of being lost amidst nature and yet there is no fear as nature fills hope in you.

Hindustan Tibet Road
Now this road boasts of getting itself mentioned in the History channel's "IRT Deadliest Roads" and that is what this certainly is. The Hindustan Tibet road connects Ambala with Khab and nothing you have seen or encountered before can prepare you for the sudden appearance of bends in the road which are sure to make your heart skip a beat. Certainly not a route for the faint hearted, this road is sure to test your driving skills and your love for some high octane adventure.

Mumbai Pune Expressway
Drive on this six-lane expressway to feel the thrill of talking to the winds as you fly by. Nestled between the beautiful Sahyadri ranges, the beauty surrounding the route is scenic to say the least. Again one of those routes which is sure to get you rejuvenated as you drive along.
