Shilparamam, located in Madhapur near the Hi Tech City in Hyderabad, is an arts & crafts village that was established to preserve and popularise the various cultures and traditions prevalent across India.
Being a tribute to the cultural legacy of India, Shilparamam offers a deep insight into the glorious past of the nation and its art forms. Though this village set-up is in the middle of the crowded areas of Andhra Pradesh, Shilparamam gives a visitor a feel of rural India.

The village has a number of attractions that make it a must visit.
Sculpture Park
The sculpture park of Shilparamam is the first of its kind in India. The various sculptures here include metal sculptures of a rooster fight, crocodile, scorpion, peacock, etc. The main attraction here, however, remains the huge sculpture of Gulliver.

Rock Museum
Subroto Basu from Shantiniketan has built a rock garden here with his own rock collections using natural rock formations found in the village. These are displayed in the Rock Museum, adding value to the unique concept of Shilparamam.

Rural Museum
The rural museum is where you feel like you're in a village. The museum is surrounded by trees and is a miniature of a village, with the structure made of baked clay and thatch. There are life-sized sculptures and other models here that depict the daily life of rural India.

Other Attractions of Shilparamam
The environment of Shilparamam is rich with miniatures from the cultures of various places in India. Activities and performances by dancers, tarot readers and rural artisans are displayed here. The village is decked with trees, lakes and waterfalls, making it a beautiful picnic spot to enjoy with your family.

An annual festival of arts and crafts is held here during the first half of March. Artists from various states preform here during the festival. Other ethnic festivals like the Kite festival, Navratri, Ugadi, etc. are celebrated here in the most traditional form. This is a great place for art lovers as it takes you to the arts and cultures of various states, all under a single roof.
Timings:
The village is open from 10.30am to 8.30pm. Parking space is available here for two wheelers and four wheelers. A nominal fare is charges for entry and parking.
