The cover of grennery, the lush green mountains and the serenity that they have to offer is beyond words. Here is a look at a few places where you can head to for a stress buster holiday.

Coorg

Coorg or Kodagu is a tourist destination in Karnataka situated in the South Western part of the Malnad area of Western Ghats. It is also known as the Scotland of India and the Kashmir of Karnataka and is famous for its evergreen forests, lush green valleys, misty hills, sprawling coffee plantations, tea estates, orange groves, lofty peaks and fast flowing streams. Coorg also offers an old world charm which is reflected in its sleepy towns.

McLeod Ganj

McLeod Ganj is a popular tourist destination located at a distance of 19 km from Kangra. This is the seat of the Dalai Lama and is located at an elevation of 1770 mt above sea level. It was also the headquarters of the Tibetan government for three decades during the time of war.This place has a beautiful monastery with large images of Lord Buddha, Padmasambhava, and Avaloktwshwara. Other Buddhist and Tibetan sites in McLeod Ganj include Namgyal Monastery. It is surrounded by thick forests of oak, pine, deodar, and rhododendron. The scenic town of McLeodganj is surrounded by snow-capped hills and remains cool and pleasant throughout the year.

Calicut

Calicut, also known by the name Kozhikode, is a northern district located on India's South-West coastal belt. The headquarters of this district is also known by the same name i.e. the city of Calicut. Surrounded by the Arabian Sea on the West, this region was the glorious center of trade and commerce in the bygone era.

Gangtok

The town of Gangtok in the State of Sikkim is the largest town in the state. Situated at an altitude of 1,437 m atop Shivalik Hills in the Eastern Himalayan Range, Gangtok is a major draw among the tourists visiting Sikkim. With the entrance of Buddhism, Gangtok began turning as a popular Buddhist pilgrimage centre as well. Gangtok includes various places of interest and importance of which some are the Enchey Monastery, the Nathula Pass, Do Drul Chorten, The Ridge, Himalayan Zoo Park and many more. One well be left dazed by the beauty of all these places.

Panchgani

The hill station of Panchgani redefines beauty. The various scenic spots have an undying allure that continues to drive tourists here. Discovered by the Britishers during their rule in India Panchgani literally translates to 'Five Hills' and is situated at an altitude of close to 1,350 mt above sea level. Whether you're a first-time traveller or the quintessential backpacker, the quaint hills have a great deal to offer for everyone.
