Navratri Utsav 2016: Celebrations in Bengaluru (Events & Dates)

Navratri is one of the most celebrated festivals in India. Goddess Durga is worshipped in every part of India, and the celebrations take place in each part of India with dance, music and several other activities.

Bengaluru is a city that takes part in almost all the major festivities of the country. With residents from various parts of India, the Navratri celebrations here are colourful and loud, with events happening in the city.

Here is a list of some of the major events that are taking place in Bengaluru during Navratri 2016. If your'e a lover of culture and festivities, these are some events not to be missed!

Vibha Dandiya Utsav 2016

Venue: Holiday Inn & Suites Bengaluru Whitefield
Date & Time: 1st October, 6pm-10pm

Vibha, an NGO organises this event to help the unfortunate children with their education, thus empoweing them. Be a part of this fun event, play Dandiya and have fun, have a sumptuous meal and also help a child reach his/her dream!

Navratri 2016 - Gujarati Cultural Group

Venue: Sai Baba Temple, AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School Road , South Bangalore
Date & Time: 1st-10th October, 8pm-11.30pm

The Gujarati Cultural Group (GCG) along with Sai Santoshi Charitable Trust, have been organising Navratri events for the past two years. This non-commercial event is open to all. The major highlights of the event are traditional garbha, competitions for kids and adults and kids' dandiya.

Garba/Dandiya Workshop

Venue: Rhythmic Feet Dance and Fitness Studio, Koramangala
Date & Time: 1st October, 5pm-7pm

This exclusive workshop is for those who wish to take part in the upcoming Navratri celebrations. This short workshop help you be prepared for the dandiya nights ahead. This two hour session is worth it, go for it!

Navratri Celebrations 2016

Venue: Art Of Living International Center , South Bangalore
Date & Time: 2nd -11th October, From 9am onwards

If you're looking for a peaceful or spiritual way to spend your Navratri in Bengaluru, here is a great opportunity! Disco Dandiya Night

Venue: Sri T Govindappa Kalyana Mantapa , East Bangalore
Date & Time: 7th October, From 6.30pm

If you're not sure on how to play Dandiya the traditional way, here is a place you should try! Here they play a mix of fast numbers and traditional garba songs so that you can dance along to both at your pace. Don't miss this disco night that has a desi flavour!
