There are a few must-see locations in the city that you should not skip if you're going to the Cannes Film Festival. Cannes, a lovely city on the French Riviera, is well-known for its magnificent beaches, opulent hotels, upscale shopping, and, of course, the annual Cannes Film Festival.
There is something at Cannes for everyone, whether you are interested in history, culture, shopping, or simply soaking up the festival vibe. Top locations to visit while attending the festival include:
La Croisette Boulevard:
The Boulevard de la Croisette is one of Cannes' most well-known streets. It is surrounded by opulent hotels, upscale stores, and restaurants and is situated along the Mediterranean Sea. La Croisette becomes the centre of attention during the Cannes Film Festival, and you can see celebrities relaxing on the beach or strolling down the boulevard.

Le Suquet:
A must-visit location if you wish to experience classic French culture is Le Suquet, Cannes' oldest town. The town is located on a hill and is home to some of the oldest buildings in Cannes. It is a charming area with narrow streets and colorful buildings.
A number of historic sites can be found in Le Suquet, including the 11th-century Tour du Mont Chevalier watchtower and the 15th-century Eglise Notre-Dame d'Espérance church. The area also has several restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy local cuisine and drinks.

The main location of the Cannes Film Festival is the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. All red-carpet events are held in this landmark structure, which is situated on the renowned La Croisette Boulevard.
Additionally, it is where the films are shown to the festival's jury and guests. Even if you do not have a ticket to any of the events, you should still visit the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès when in Cannes for the film festival.
Notre-Dame de l'Esperance:
Notre Dame d'Espérance, commonly known as Our Lady of Hope, is a church that is located in the Le Suquet historic district. Due to its distinctive architectural style and breathtaking views of the city of Cannes, the 16th-century church attracts travellers to Le Suquet.
Visitors are drawn in by the Renaissance porch and the organ from the 19th century. The church serves as both a place of worship and a location for the Musical Nights of Le Suquet, a one-week festival that is held each year in July in the square in front of the church. If you want to escape the chaos of the film festival, this is the ideal location to go.
Lerins islands:
Popular tourist attraction Lerins Island is easily reachable from Cannes via ferry. Four little islands make up the Lerins Island group, which is close to Cannes, France. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat are the two main islands. Visitors can trek the paths, experience the natural beauty of the islands, and take in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The islands are renowned for producing wine in addition to their natural beauty. Since more than a thousand years ago, the monks of Saint-Honorat have produced wine on the island, and today tourists can enjoy their wines at the vineyards and wine cellars on the island.
