Due to ongoing remodelling work and the impact of low visibility caused by fog, the Indian Railways has announced the cancellation of several train services. These include the Agra Cantt-Palwal Express, which will not resume until February 5, 2024, due to the remodelling of the Mathura Junction yard. In addition, over two dozen trains of the North Central Railway have been cancelled due to fog-induced low visibility.

Details of Cancelled Trains
A number of specific train services have been affected by these changes. These include the Agra Cantt-Tundla Express, the Idgah-Bharatpur Express, the Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur Express, and the Agra Fort-Ramnagar Express among others. Each of these services has different cancellation dates spanning from January to February in 2024.

Impact of Fog on Train Services
Besides cancellations, the Indian Railways has been grappling with significant delays due to dense fog. More than a dozen trains operating to Agra Cantt railway station were delayed by two to three hours earlier this week. The delayed trains include the Mahakaushal Express, the Chhattisgarh Express, the Patna-Kota Express, and the Telangana Express.

Cancellations Due to Prayagraj Station Upgrades
In addition to the cancellations due to yard remodelling and fog, Indian Railways has also cancelled several trains because of major upgradation work at the Prayagraj station of North Central Railway (NCR). These cancellations affect services such as the Dadar-Ballia special express, Ballia- Dadar express, Dadar Gorakhpur express, Gorakhpur to Dadar Express, Jalna-Chhapra Express, and many more between late November 2023 and early January 2024.
In light of these disruptions, passengers are advised to check the status of their trains before planning their journeys. The temporary inconvenience is part of the Indian Railways' ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure and services. The patience and understanding of passengers are greatly appreciated during this period of significant upgrades and weather-related challenges.
