Lidder Valley gets its name from the Lidder river which flows through it in Jammu and Kashmir. This picturesque valley is one of the offbeat destinations in the state.

Lidder river which cascades across the valley makes it even more scenic. Tourists will be welcomed to vast green landcapes and blue water slithering in the heart of this place. The post card beauty of this region is undescribable.

Lidder Valley with a backdrop of Himalayan peaks is alluring and also perfect for a photography tour.

Lidder Valley is at the western end of Kashmir Valley. It is located around 7km from the town of Anantnag. The capital of Srinagar is at a distance of 60km from Lidder Valley.

Best Time To Visit

In the months of March to June the climate will be pleasant and cool in Lidder valley. The winters are from November to February and the weather will be extremely cold. You can visit in winter if you want to experience snowfall

Lidder Valley is a trans-Himalayan valley which is surrounded by Pir Panjal Himalayan ranges. And to its North East is the famous Zanskar Valley. The most prominent part is the Lidder River which gives a 'Y' shape to the region. The beautiful pine trees and mountain slopes is yet another major attracting factor here.

Aru Valley, Pahalgam, Anantnag, Betab Valley, Akad, Chandanwari, etc. are some of the towns and valleys which encompass Lidder Valley. Sheshnag Lake, Mamaleshwar temple and Tulian lake are some of the tourist places in Pahalgam which is around 50km to Lidder Valley.
