Vidyarambham in Kerala is the ritual that is observed at the end of Navratri, and is considered as an auspicious day to start academics, business or any other venture. There are many temples where the ceremony is celebrated and devotees flock in from various places to attend the event.

The Guru (the one who performs Vidyarambham) writes "Hari Sree" on the child's tongue with a gold ring, after which he/she is made to write "Harisree Ganapathaye Namaha" in Malayalam as the first step of imparting knowledge.
