By Rail: Dehradun is well connected to Delhi and other major cities of India by rail. Therefore, you can catch a direct train from Delhi to reach Dehradun. This rail journey will take an average time of 7 h.

By Road: As Dehradun is the capital city of Uttarakhand, it has a commendable road network and you can easily access it by road.

Route 1: Delhi - Panipat - Karnal - Dehradun

Route 2: Delhi - Muzaffarnagar - Saharanpur - Dehradun

As route 1 is more interesting and takes only about 5 h 30 min to reach Dehradun, it is preferred by most of the tourists. On your way, you can also take a break at the following destinations which are known for their age-old history.
