In a move that underscores the sanctity of the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony, the Uttar Pradesh government has declared a ban on the sale of alcohol within an 84-kilometer radius of Ayodhya. This ban, announced by state Excise Minister Nitin Agarwal, is poised to ensure the solemnity and purity of the anticipated event.

Details of the Prohibition in Ayodhya
Following a significant meeting with Champat Rai, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra's general secretary, Minister Agarwal made it clear that the alcohol ban would be strictly enforced within the 84 Kosi Parikrama area. "All the existing shops will be removed and shifted to another place," stated Agarwal, emphasizing the government's commitment to upholding the sanctity of the region during this momentous occasion.

Scope and Security Measures for the Temple Event
Clarifying the extent of the ban, the minister mentioned that it would not encompass the entire Ayodhya metropolitan area, but rather, it is specifically tailored for the 84 Kosi Parikrama regions only. This delineation comes ahead of a significant visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled to inaugurate the new international airport and the Adyohya Dham railway station. In tandem with this, Ayodhya has been fortified with heightened security measures to ensure the safety of the event and its participants.

Comprehensive Security for Ayodhya's Spiritual Milestone
With the recent breach of security in Parliament fresh in mind, authorities are not taking any chances. An array of special commandos from the NSG, ATS, and STF have been deployed, and a vigilant eye is kept on the Saryu river. Special DG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar outlined the extensive security personnel presence, including DIGs, SPs, and companies of PAC and central paramilitary forces, all dedicated to overseeing the prime minister's visit and maintaining order.
The ceremonial ban on alcohol sales reflects the profound reverence that the city of Ayodhya holds for its cultural and spiritual heritage. As the city gears up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prepare for the Ram temple consecration ceremony, it is evident that every measure is being taken to ensure that the event remains a safe, secure, and sacred milestone in India's spiritual history.
