All food establishments are required to adhere to food safety standards and are mandated to display a copy of their license or registration during the festival period. Additionally, any institution, organization, or individual planning to offer food, snacks, cold drinks, or drinking water in connection with the Pongal Festival must register with the Food Safety Department in advance. The Attukal Pongala festival stands as a testament to the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Thiruvananthapuram. Ensuring a Safe and Sacred Environment

In anticipation of the large influx of devotees and to maintain the sanctity of the festival, the District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram has issued an order to prohibit the operation of liquor shops within the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation area. A special registration system has been established at Akshaya Kendras to facilitate this process. Moreover, the department has provided a toll-free number (1800 425 1125) for reporting food-related complaints, ensuring a responsive and responsible food service during the festival.
