From places of worship to sightseeing, trekking and rafting, each tourist hotspot offers a vast range of pilgrimage sites, beautiful sceneries, and exciting activities to travellers.

Almora
Almora, perched on a horse saddle shaped ridge, is a top tourist hill station of the Kumaon region. Travellers can enjoy the panoramic view of snow-capped peaks of the mighty Himalayas from the hills of Almora. They can also enjoy the beautiful views of sunrise and sunset from the Bright End Corner. Simtola and Martola are ideal for picnickers. The Deer Park is a must-visit place for wildlife enthusiasts as it houses animals like deer, leopard, and the Himalayan black bear. Some other sightseeing tourist spots includes the Gobind Ballabh Pant Public Museum and the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Trekking and mountain biking are popular activities among visitors here.

Auli
Auli is one of the best tourist spots which is famous for skiing all across the globe. While walking through the dewy slopes, tourists can enjoy stunning views of the Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, and Kamat mountain ranges. Travellers can also enjoy the views of apple orchards and lush deodar trees from the boulevards of the slopes. It is famous for the Auli Artificial Lake which has been specially developed by the government to provide artificial snow to the new ski slopes during the months of low snowfall. Auli is also famous for trekking in the Himalayan region. The Joshimath trekking route is quite popular among tourists. Peaks like the Kamet, Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, and Dunagiri can be seen while trekking through the various routes in this region.

Chopta
Chopta is a beautiful hill station located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The destination has earned the name of ‘Mini Switzerland' owing to its breathtaking scenic beauty and lush green grasslands, known as Bugyals. Tourists can enjoy the splendid views of the mountain ranges, such as the Chaukhamba, Trishul, and Nanda Devi, from this place. The place is renowned for the Tungnath Temple devoted to the Hindu Lord Shiva. This ancient shrine which is located in the Tungnath Mountain Range is the highest Shiva Temple in the world. The Tungnath Temple can be reached by trekking 3.5 km from Chopta.

Devprayag
Devprayag is a popular religious town situated in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. The word Devprayag in Sanskrit means the ‘Holy Confluence' and the town is located at the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. Also known as ‘The Gem of Uttarakhand', the town is named after Dev Sharma, a renowned Hindu sage who lived here. This holy town holds the fifth position among the five sacred river-confluences, popularly known as the 'Panch Prayag' in the country. The Vishnu Prayag, Rudra Prayag, Nand Prayag, and Karn Prayag are the other four. You can also visit the two suspension bridges built over the Bhagirathi River and the Alaknanda River respectively.

Dhanaulti
Dhanaulti is a picturesque hill station situated in the Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. One of best sightseeing tourist attraction here is the Eco Park which is surrounded by deodar forests. The Dashavatar Temple, New Tehri Township, Barehipani, Joranda Falls, Deogarh Fort and Matatila Dam are some other top tourist hotspots here.

Hemkunt
Hemkunt is a top tourist place located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This holy place can only be reached on foot from Gobindghat which is located on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. The Vasudhara Falls, close to Badrinath is another popular sightseeing attraction of this region. Bounded by mountains, this waterfall looks amazing. This place can be reached by trekking. The trekking trail starts from the Mana Village, through a cobbled path, where it is easy to walk for 2-3 kilometres but after that the path becomes quite steep.

Jeolikot
Jeolikot is an alluring tourist spot in the Nainital district. This place, which serves as a gateway to the Naini Lake is an ideal place for butterfly catching and floriculture. The visit to Jeolikot is incomplete without trekking to the age-old temples, cemeteries, the House of Warwick Sahib and other structures of its past. One can also learn the art of collecting honey by visiting the bee-breeding centre of Jeolikot. Fruits like kiwis, olives, strawberries and fresh flower honey are available here at competitive prices. The shops also deal in saplings and small potted plants.

Kalsi is a top tourist place in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. This place is famous for various ancient monuments, adventure sports and picnic sites. The Ashokan Rock Edict, an important monument in the history of Indian epigraphy is one of the must-visit tourist attractions here.

Kanatal
Kanatal is a tiny village with lush green surroundings, snow-covered mountains, rivers, and forests which enhances the overall beauty of this place. The Kodai jungle, which is accessible by an easy trek, is a top tourist place. While trekking, travellers get an opportunity to see the beautiful natural water springs and animals like barking deer, wild boar, Goral, and musk deer. Tourists can indulge in rafting at Shivpuri, 75 km from Kanatal.The calm and serene atmosphere of the place attract tourists from all over.

Kedarnath
Kedarnath, situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, is considered as one of the holiest destinations as per Hinduism. Travellers visiting Kedarnath must also visit the Samadhi of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Sonprayag, Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and Gaurikund.
