Hampi Utsav is celebrated to remember the age of Vijayanagara Empire. It is organised every year by the Government of Karnataka. Hampi Utsav is one of the grand cultural festivals in Karnataka. This festival not only entertains but also gives a platform to showcase many traditional and cultural art forms.
The famous Hampi gets a new look during the festivities and also attracts a number of tourists. This year 2016, the 3 day festival is scheduled from 9th to 11th January. Hampi has always been a popular attraction under Karnataka tourism. Hampi Utsav is yet another event to promote the culture of Karnataka and a reminder of history.

Kushti (Traditional Wrestling)
Kusti is an Indian version of wrestling. Malla-Yuddha is the oldest form of Kusti. The men who practice Kusti are called Pehalwans. In Hampi Utsav, Kusti competitions are also held.

How to Reach
Hampi is around 360km from Bangalore. There are many buses that go from Bangalore to Hampi. You can also go to Hospet by train and from there use local transport to reach Hampi. Both are budget friendly options.
