    Doddabale Siddaragudda Peak

    Doddabale Siddaragudda Peak, located at an elevation of 5500 ft, is a 'must visit' attraction of Shivgiri. Tourists can see a beautiful and remarkable view of Lakeville Dam, Baba Budangiri Hills, Bhadra Lake and Yemmedoddi Village from this peak.

    The peak is also suitable for trekking and rock climbing; enthusiasts can see trails and coffee plantations on their way. During climbing, tourists can also see pugmarks and animal droppings and are advised to take a guide along with them on the journey.

Lord Shiva, one of the three most important Gods of Hindu mythology, is considered as the most powerful deity among the Hindus. According to locals beliefs, the temple is 400 years old and tourists can see the temple from the peak of Doddabale Siddharagudda Peak.

  • 03Muthodi Wildlife Sanctuary

    Muthodi Wildlife Sanctuary

    Travellers are recommended to visit Muthodi Wildlife Sanctuary, counted among the main parts of the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, on their journey to Shivgiri. Under Project Tiger, in 1998, this sanctuary was declared as the 25th Tiger Reserve of India.

    A large number of rare species of animals and birds can be found at this sanctuary, such as tiger, king vulture, gaur and jackal. Along with them, wild dogs, elephants, monkeys, panther, great horned owl, black napped flycatcher and various species of birds are present here.

    Around 120 tree species are also present in this sanctuary. The great Indian gaur, barking deer, flying fox, mongoose, elephant, panther, macaque, babbler, barbet, blue jay, kingfisher, robin, weaverbird and drongo have all made their home here.
