Ponnani Weather

The tropical climate makes Ponnani a tourist spot of all seasons. However, the months of heavy monsoons and intense summer are not recommended. August-September (the season of Onam Festival) is ideal for those who aspire to watch boat races. The best time to visit this tiny town is from November to February.

Summer

Like other South Indian towns, Ponnani enjoys a tropical climate and the humidity is relatively high it being a coastal town. The summer begins in Ponnani from March and continues till May. During summer the temperatures vary from 32°C to 38°C. Cotton clothes would be a wise pick for travel outfits.  

Monsoon

The climatic conditions of Ponnani correspond to that of other coastal areas of Kerala. Monsoons are extensive, and the town receives a fairly decent rainfall. Monsoon clouds cover Ponnani from the month of June and showers are continued till early September. Incessant heavy showers can hinder outdoor activities during this season.

Winter

Winter is the most welcoming climatic condition in Ponnani town. The chill of winter hits the town from December, and the season is prolonged till February. The town enjoys a comfortably mild as well as pleasant climate during this season. In these coolest months the temperatures range from 24°C to 32°C.
