Cyclone Remal made landfall between Sagar Island in West Bengal and Khepupara in Bangladesh on Sunday night. The severe cyclonic storm had wind speeds reaching up to 135 km per hour and is expected to gradually weaken into a cyclonic storm on Monday.

Remal moved nearly northwards over the past six hours after crossing the Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts. It is projected to continue moving northwards before turning north-northeastwards.
